JAPHET JOINED CHIEFS AND PEOPLE OF SREMANU TO APPEAL TO GOV'T FOR POTABLE WATER

The Assembly Member Aspirant, Japhet Festus Gbede and people of Sremanu, a farming community in the Akatsi south  District of the Volta  Region, have appealed to the NPP government to provide them with potable water to undertake household and other activities.

Japhet, who led his people to make the appeal, said the people of the area spent a lot of time in search of potable water.
He affectionately, added that most of the communities in the Wuxor, Have and  Sremanu electoral area Have been suffering for potable drinking water for sometime now after their boreholes have  not been repaired and several calls on government officials received no attention.
He wish to call on Government,  philanthropist's, NGO's and any other person to come to their aid before things get out of hand.
He made the appeal at a emergency meeting he held in the Community's Health Center (CHC) on wednesday.
The meeting, which brought together duty-bearers, identifiable groups, traditional authorities, youth groups among others, was also to increase awareness of the citizenry on their first coming Dunenyo festival and launching of ACHIMOTO DRUMMING GROUP that have collapse some years back and again take remedy actions against some other challenges  facing the community.
Japhet, who stressed on Social auditing as a way of  integrating all groups of citizens in the decision-making process with particular attention to the vulnerable and the marginalized groups added that he will  leave no stone upturned  in making sure Sremanu becomes the nicest and finest community in the AKATSI SOUTH CONSTITUENCY.
Japhet again appealed to the NPP government to support their Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound in the area to address their health needs.
Other members of the community were not happy that the construction of three units classroom blocks  had stalled due to some promises of politicians.
Japhet who is the Secretary to Sremanu Development committee and the Assembly Member Aspirant for the electoral area has  assured his  people that their concerns would be channeled to the appropriate authorities for action to be taken on them.
