AKATSI SOUTH MP CELEBRATES CASSAVA (AGBELI)FESTIVAL WITH THE PEOPLE OF AVENORPEDO.
Member of Parliament for AKATSI SOUTH CONSTITUENCY, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor has join the people of Avenorpedo to celebrate the 2019 Agbeli festival, a festival celebrated in the Akatsi south Constituency in the Volta Region.
The festival is used to thank God and the ancestors for a successful agriculture harvest and also offer prayers for a peaceful year.
The vice chairman of subsidiary and legislative committee and a member of judiciary and Education committees who represented the people of Akatsi south Constituency in the Parliament lauded the chiefs and people of Avenorpedo, saying that the theme for this year’s celebration is timely as it’s geared towards promoting Ghanaian products.
The festival, which was full of fun and excitement, enjoyed high patronage from natives of the town, both home and abroad, and from local and foreign tourists.
The atmosphere in the town before the durbar was very calm and relaxed when the member of parliament for Akatsi south Constituency stormed the ground with his hard-working entourage.
In his address, Hon. Bernard Ahiafor thanked the God's for the lives of the people and for a successful festival.
He commended the previous NDC government for the provision of infrastructure in the area, particularly classrooms and electricity.
He announced that he will support the community with Five Computers, paint their classrooms and again with cash amount to Ghc5000.00
The chief of the community said although the area has vast potential in tourism, the socio-economic lives of the people have worsened over the years.
He, therefore, called for improvement in telecommunications and the road network in the area to open it up to tourism and other investments to enhance the living standards of the people.

I pray for his victory 2020 general elections so that he would continue establish enabling environment for the people of Akatsi South and Ghana as a whole ..
